Speech and feeding therapy for children and families in Brooklyn and Manhattan
Schedule a Complimentary ConsultationNearly one in 12 children between the ages of 3 and 17 have a speech or language disorder—but more than half of these children have not received intervention services.
The support of a speech and/or feeding therapist gives children the tools they need to effectively communicate and express themselves for the rest of their lives. The first—and most important—step is finding the right therapist for your child and your family.
Speech therapy gives your child the tools they need to communicate effectively and confidently. Each session is tailored to meet your child’s unique needs. By leveraging multiple therapeutic approaches, we create an individualized treatment plan.
Feeding therapy supports children who struggle with eating a variety of foods and textures. Our goal is to make mealtimes nourishing and pleasant for your child—and less stressful for you! Each session is tailored to meet your child’s unique needs, frequently focusing on oral motor skills, chewing, and swallowing.
We offer social-emotional playgroups focused on social communication. Your child will be paired with a peer or small group of children working on similar goals with a sensory motor-based approach. Reach out to us for more information.
Movement can be therapeutic, calming, and energizing. We explore wiggling our bodies, breathing with our bellies, and using our voices to increase the ability to focus and communicate. This is a wonderful addition to any treatment plan.
If your child is experiencing any of the following signs of speech and/or feeding challenges, we can help:
Is your child showing late development of language skills compared to their peers? Is your two-year-old using less than 50–100 words?
Do they struggle to initiate or maintain conversations, understand social cues, or connect with their peers?
Does your child struggle with eating habits and milestones?
Is your child a picky eater? Do you find it challenging to go to social gatherings because of your child’s behaviors during mealtimes? Is your child eating less than 20 different foods?
Does your child learn whole phrases at once instead of a single word at a time? Does your child show signs of echolalia, or communicating by repeating words or phrases they’ve heard?
Does your child have autism and is experiencing speech or language challenges, such as echolalia?
TOTs include lip-ties and tongue-ties, which can cause challenges with speech and feeding.
Does your child commonly breathe with their mouth open? We can help support oral tone and offer referrals for more support.
Does your child have difficulty pronouncing any sounds?
Have you noticed your child shows signs of consistent stuttering when trying to speak?
Does your child have signs of vowel or consonant distortions, pauses between syllables, and difficulties producing words or phrases?
Does your child have Down syndrome and is experiencing speech delays or challenges?
Does your child have difficulty understanding verbal expressions or processing language? This might show up as difficulties naming objects, using pronouns, following directions, or responding to questions.
Does your child struggle with the “R” sound or are you noticing signs of a lisp?
